The Packfords period hotel in Woodford Green was a gorgeous setting for the wedding of Will & Leigh. With guest rooms upstairs, the ceremony in the stylish Hardy Room and the reception in the Victorian style conservatory it was a great place to have the wedding.
I first met Will & Leigh when I was asked to design their wedding invitation. They had the excellent idea of having their 1 year old daughter hold a sign asking people to come to their wedding. So I popped round to their home having ‘borrowed’ a chalk board off of my nephew and scrawled the message on the board. Using a glittery wall in the daughters bedroom as a backdrop we gave her the sign. She wasn’t in the best of moods but as soon as she saw the camera she was the perfect model, posing and smiling for the camera and we got some great shots for the front of the invitation.
Fast forward 1 year and after an engagement shoot at Hainault Forest, the wedding day arrived on a surprisingly rainy Saturday in August. After checking in with Leigh and her bridesmaids upstairs getting pampered (not having too much Champagne) and finding Will and his groomsmen relaxing in the gardens, it was time for the wedding. The bride walked in to an instrumental version of Whitney Houston’s 'I will always love you' and it was charming to see the nervousness on Will’s face as he awaited his bride to be. The ceremony took place with the reciting of the wedding vows including the mentioning of Will’s middle name which sent the whole room into fits of laughter. Afterwards we all moved onto the Garden Suite for the reception where a Steel Band were playing, a surprise gift from Will’s family. While the guests mingled, there was a break in the bad weather so we had some fun with the portraits in the gardens. Then were the speeches, one of which highlighted the many different fashion choices made by Leigh over the years and another of an unfortunate mishap that happened to Will which its best not to repeat on here.
The night carried on with the evening guests arriving, a buffet, the cutting of the cake, the first dance and the throwing of the bouquet (which inevitably led to a great tussle for the prize). The party continued well into the early hours of the morning.
It was a wonderful day and thanks to Will & Leigh for letting me capture it for them.

An extremely professional service throughout, from our initial meetings all the way through to receiving our photos (which we absolutely love). Harpreet captured our day beautifully. So much so that I even used his services for my 30th Birthday this year!"
